conclave of shadows by Raymond E Feist.

talon of the silver hawk

Talon has just received his name, he is a man of the orisini clan, on his way home he is soon to be the last of the Orosini. Seeing his people slaughtered and rescued by some of the Kingdoms craftier fellas and Pug's sons, Talon is soon transformed into a weapon against a mutual enemy. He leaves the barbaric life a far way back in his head and starts to become a very talented young man who is a master of the sword and well traveled and a hunter without comparison among men. Feist is back. Oh yes he is. After some trembling books you start a new Serpent war saga with the tell tales of Feists love for making characters and setting them loose on the universe he likes so much. This book is better then many of the flimsy later books and feels like you are comming along in the new world after the great war.

king of foxes

With revenge claimed as a cold shadow Talon hunts on for the Duke of Orlasko and to have him pay. He enters in his service and after a harrowing time Talon faces many dangerous and difficult dilemmas, only to realise that behind his enemy is the even greater enemy. An enemy so strong that even the conclave of shadows fears him. Talon need to put everything he has learned to good test and start an army to deal with Orlasko.

exile´s return

Among the best turn abouts ever. The duke of Orlasko has faces a humiliating banishment to Novindus after that Talon spared his life. Leso Varen's grip on the former duke is lessening andnow he has to learn a new language and find a way to get a ship of Novindus to get back at Talon. In his struggles the former duke is not only humiliated and grewing wiser in the light of what he sees in Novindus, he stumbles upon a dark armour that has a foreboding quality to be something of the greaest threats for the Midkemian world.

While starting off great and continuing really nice this book has an ending that sounds forebodingly much to be same same but different only worse. I hope that the conclave wars will be a great continuation but I will hold my hopes at bay until it is read.

-Wolfgir-

You should really like this book if you:
Want Feist to write as he did around the Serpent war saga or along the same style when spelling out the adventures of prince Arutha.
You won't like this book if you:
Don't like fantasy, but then again you won't be bright to jump in on this serie so far into a great scheme like this...

Good:

- Humour
- Easygoing
- Interesting new take
- Character comes to life

Bad:

- A bit omnious ending to the serie of three books with an verwhelming threat that is almost ridiculous.
